Jim Stolze (born 30 November 1973) studied at VU University Amsterdam when he got the chance to start his own publishing house. After the successful launch of a commercial magazine he co-founded an advertising agency specialized in digital marketing. After he sold both companies Stolze went on to become editor in chief of the largest website in The Netherlands.
Between 2007 – 2009 he followed an executive M.B.A. course for which he wrote a master thesis on Internet strategy. The experiment in which he went completely offline for forty days caught international attention and received a lot of following.
In 2009 Jim Stolze was appointed by TED as a senior ambassador for the TEDx program. Together with various teams around the world he co-organized many TEDx events. In 2012 Jim Stolze moved to Doha (Qatar) to help set up an organization that fosters TED’s mission “ideas worth spreading” in the Middle East region.
At TEDxUNPlaza Jim Stolze will share a new story. His ambition is to transform the way we look at volunteerism.
